Solar Subsidy Registration Camp and Loan Mela at SBI Chittur on October 27
Chittur: BSS Green Life has announced a solar subsidy registration camp and solar loan mela for residents of wards 1 to 30 of Chittur-Tattamangalam Municipality. According to the organisers, the camp will take place at the State Bank of India, Chittur branch premises, on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, from 10 am to 2 pm.
Registration at the camp will be free. Residents interested in installing rooftop solar systems can enquire about subsidy applications, installation requirements and bank financing.

Rooftop Solar Subsidy and Financing
Eligible residential consumers can receive central financial assistance under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. The standard subsidy is โน30,000 for a 1 kW system, โน60,000 for 2 kW, and โน78,000 for 3 kW or higher, subject to scheme conditions. The subsidy is not automatically โน78,000 for every applicant.
Consumers can check eligibility and application requirements through the official PM Surya Ghar portal.
SBI also offers rooftop solar financing under its Surya Ghar loan scheme. Loan approval, repayment terms and eligibility remain subject to the bankโs assessment and applicable conditions. The organisers say visitors can enquire at the camp about instalment-based financing options.
What Residents Should Clarify Before Installation
Residents should request a written quotation showing the system capacity, total installation cost, expected generation, subsidy eligibility, warranty and maintenance arrangements.
A battery-free, grid-connected solar system generates electricity during daylight hours. At night, the household draws electricity from the grid. Any reduction in the bill depends on solar generation, household consumption and the applicable electricity billing rules. Installing solar does not automatically guarantee unlimited free electricity or eliminate every charge.
Applicants should also confirm rooftop suitability, electricity connection requirements and local grid feasibility before committing to an installation.
