Chittur: Uma Maheswari, from Tattamangalam invited to present a paper about the Nilgiri pipet at the Ornithologists summit at London. Nilgiri pipet is a bird facing extinction, and are endemic to Nilgiri Biosphere region hence become highly endangered.
For the last 4 years Uma Mahaswari is engaged in research on this subject at SÃ lim Ali Centre For Ornithology And Natural History, Coimbatore.
