Walayar to Vadackenchery project is yet to be awarded. The Vadackanchery to Thrissur (Mannuthy) project has already been awarded. However, appointed date is to be declared.
The 4/6-laning of Walayar to Mannuthy has been taken up under two packages. Walayar to Vadakkanchery package is yet to be awarded. The start date can be informed only after the award. Vadakkanchery to Thrissur stretch is planned for 6-laning and the work has been awarded during August 2009. However the work could not be started due to stiff public resistance over land acquisition in the State of Kerala. It is expected that the work can be started during the month of May 2011.
